COATING
SUBSTRATE TREATMENT
Coating is critical to ensuring the longevity of a print. Our coating techniques allow our pieces to retain their color for over 100 years without fading. Due to our supplies and coating techniques, our pigment prints can last as long as some originals.
Many of today's printing establishments use coatings that are toxic to the environment. However, we have developed spraying techniques to maintain the integrity of the art while remaining environmentally responsible. We use a non-toxic, eco-friendly laminate and a controlled room with special ventilation from the building.
Depending on the customer's request, we can make a print with many different looks and different coating types. We can make a print look shiny by adding additional coats or having a matte finish.
Applying a protective layer over a finished artwork protects it from damage and extends its lifespan. Coating is essential for several reasons, including:
The coating can be applied to a variety of prints. The type of coating used will depend on the medium and surface of the artwork, as well as the desired level of protection and appearance. EMBELLISHMENT
Some originals are heavily textured. We use embellishment on many of our limited editions to mimic the texture of an original. Embellishing adds more detail to prints, mimicking the textures of the original artwork.
Embellishing in art refers to adding texture elements to an artwork to enhance its visual appeal and impact. It can involve adding a variety of materials, including paint, ink, gold leaf, glitter, beads, and other embellishments, to create a unique, visually rich composition.
Embellishing can create a wide range of effects, from subtle accents and highlights to bold and dramatic embellishments that draw the eye and add interest to the artwork. Embellishing is often used in traditional forms of fine art, such as painting and drawing, and is also a common technique in printmaking and mixed media art.
In addition to enhancing the visual impact of an artwork, embellishing can also communicate meaning and symbolism or express personal or cultural perspectives. Whether used to add sparkle and shine or to create a sense of depth and texture, embellishing is an important aspect of the artistic process that can add interest and intrigue to an artwork.
REPLICATING THE ORIGINAL
Blazing Editions is known for its reproduction quality. We strive to make each piece look identical to the original. When we hear, "I can't see a visual difference between the original and repr,” we know we have done our part.
