About

Born in Liverpool, England, Julian Lennon began his artistic trajectory at a young age, showcasing an inherent talent for playing musical instruments. Over time, those early talents would expand into the cinematic and visual arts. As an observer of life in all its forms, Julian has developed his expression through music, acting, and documentary filmmaking. In 2007, a new chapter started when he began capturing images during a musical tour with his half-brother, Sean Lennon, marking the beginning of his photography journey. His cr’s creative pursuits have long been strongly linked to philanthropy. As the founder of the White Feather Foundation, he has used his platform to support various humanitarian and environmental initiatives. His work highlights clean water access, conservation, and global sustainability issues. Through his photography, he seeks to raise awareness about the importance of empathy and a sense of responsibility.

Julian’s photography offers a deeply personal yet universal exploration of portraits and landscapes. Through the lens, Julian captures moments that often go unnoticed, focusing on the quiet beauty of human interaction and the natural world. He describes his photography as “one way to share, learn, appreciate and understand about other cultures and empathize with other people’s lives..”Lennon’s latest photographic collection, Reminiscence, invites viewers to reflect on the fragility of our world and the beauty of life’s interactions. This body of work, features a curated selection of photos spanning different locations and recurring subjects, capturing moments of deep introspection and serene contemplation. One of the standout pieces in the show, Focus, pays tribute to the iconic photographer Elliot Erwitt, whose work has been a significant influence and source of admiration for Lennon. Lennon channels Erwitt’s emotional moment with this piece, presenting a striking exploration of everyday life – a mirrored reflection through a passing car. The image invites viewers to pause and reflect, embodying the power and beauty of life's moments. Charlene Wittstock is a personal piece for Lennon. Taken just minutes before Charlene became Princess Charlene of Monaco, the photograph captures a fleeting moment of quiet reflection before her life was forever altered. This image holds significant emotional value for Lennon, which he keeps displayed in his own home, a constant reminder of the intimate and human side of transformative events. As noted by celebrity photographer Timothy White, “(Lennon) brings the subjects down to earth in a way few photographers have been able to accomplish.”

In Reminiscence, Julian’s photographic approach is both intimate and expansive, offering a rich tapestry of images that encourage viewers to consider their own connection to the world around them. With each frame, he invites us to engage with the delicate balance of life and the profound beauty that exists in even the most fleeting moments. Through his lens, Julian Lennon continues to use his art to provoke thought, inspire change, and remind us of the deep ties that unite us all.

In Lennon’s words “Empathy is the bond that unites the planet…We are all in this together, and hopefully someday the world will realize that.”
