Alan Blazar
About
Alan Blazar, the founder of Blazing Editions, has more than 30 years experience in the visual and graphic arts-as a photographer, prepress technician and executive. In 1984 he founded his own photography, design, pre-press and printing company, combining many of the disciplines of graphic arts production all under one roof. He became known for pioneering the use of many emerging technologies such as waterless printing, stochastic screening and digital photography. He started experimenting with the giclée process on his own photographs in 1994. Quickly realizing the vast potential—both aesthetically and commercially—of the revolutionary medium, he founded Blazing Editions. Mr. Blazar earned his B.A. from University of Rhode Island and went on to attend Rhode Island School of Design in printmaking. His photographs and giclées hang in many corporate and private collections of contemporary art.
