Inset Mounts
An Inset backing refers to a mounting option used for dye sublimation aluminum prints, where a frame is attached to the back of the aluminum print. The inset backing or “frameless” mount is usually made of aluminum and is designed to be hidden from view when the artwork is displayed. The term "inset" indicates that this backing is recessed or sits inside the edges of the print, so it's not visible when looking at the print from the front or sides. This approach ensures that the focus remains on the artwork while providing the necessary support and hanging mechanism from behind.
-
Adds strength and rigidity to the print, helping to prevent warping or bending over time. Aluminum prints are durable and resistant to elements, but larger prints can still benefit from the additional support that an inset backing provides.
-
The aluminum inset backing includes an integrated track system that allows cleats, screws, or hangers to hang from.
-
This creates a “frameless” floating effect as the print does not lie flat against the wall but hovers slightly off it. This makes hanging easier and adds a more professional or polished look to the artwork's display.

Sintra is a brand name for a lightweight, rigid, and durable foam board made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
Durability: Sintra is water-resistant and can withstand exposure to various elements, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its PVC construction also makes it resistant to dents, scratches, and general wear and tear.
Lightweight: Despite its durability, Sintra is remarkably lightweight, making it easy to handle, transport, and install. This characteristic is particularly beneficial for large prints or signs mounted on walls or other surfaces without additional heavy support systems.
Versatility: Sintra comes in various thicknesses and colors, offering flexibility depending on the specific needs of the print or the project. It can be cut into different shapes and sizes, accommodating custom display requirements.
Smooth Surface: Sintra's delicate, soft surface provides an excellent mounting base, ensuring prints look sharp and vibrant. The surface's quality enhances the mounted print's appearance, making colors pop and details stand out.
Ease of Use: Sintra can be drilled, routed, and cut to size without the material chipping or otherwise degrading, which allows for easy customization and installation. It can be adhered to various substrates and frames using compatible adhesives, making the mounting process straightforward.

Dibond is a popular mounting material for fine art prints known for its high-quality, durable, and versatile characteristics. It consists of a polyethylene core sandwiched between two aluminum sheets, combining the best features of both materials.
Durability & Stability: Dibond is incredibly durable and resistant to weather, temperature changes, and moisture, making it an excellent choice for indoor and outdoor displays. The aluminum layers protect the print from bending, warping, and fading, ensuring the artwork remains pristine for years.
Lightweight: Despite its strength and rigidity, Dibond is lightweight compared to solid aluminum or wood panels. This makes handling, transporting, and installing easier, especially for large-sized prints that would otherwise be cumbersome.
Smooth Surface: Dibond's aluminum surface provides a soft, stable foundation for mounting prints. This ensures the artwork is displayed without surface imperfections, allowing for vibrant color reproduction and sharp image details.
Aesthetic Appeal: Dibond has a sleek and modern appearance, adding a professional touch to mounted prints. The edges of the Dibond panel can be finished in various ways to complement the artwork, and its minimalistic look ensures that the focus remains on the print itself.
Archival Quality: The materials used in Dibond are archival, meaning they do not emit harmful gases that could degrade the mounted prints over time. This is particularly important for preserving the integrity and longevity of fine art prints.
Ease of Installation: Dibond can be equipped with various mounting systems, such as aluminum rails or standoffs, which provide secure mounting and enhance the overall presentation by creating a floating effect on the wall.
